Albert Kotin (1907-1980) was born in Minsk Russia. In the 1950's, Kotin was an integral part of the New York City 10th Street Group which included some of the foremost Abstract Expressionist artists of the day, such as Phillip Guston, Willem de Kooning, Ad Reinhardt, Arshile Gorky, and Harold Rosenberg. Albert Kotin studied at the National Academy, Art Students' League, Charles Hawthorne, Provincetown, Academie Julian,Paris, Academie de la Grande Chaumiere, Paris, Colorossi, Paris, Atelier de Fresque, Paris, and Hans Hoffman School, New York. His works have been exhibited in many shows and galleries in New York City, Mexico, Paris, Pennsylvania, Houston, Illiniios, just to name a few.
